Well its actually 800 metres if you look at the distance from the nearest point of the market to the station...tanslink...has a 500 metere guideline for landmarks which is not set in stone it is supposed to also look places of interest with easy access to tourists from any given station. This was done in case of Chinatown even though it was not on the line. The arguement that people would come ount looking fro punjbai maeket is very silly cuz the signs are already in place and the market association is planning a huge gate which will be visible from two kms away.

If they had done that, then EVERY ethnic group would have wanted the same thing and it would have got too competitive.

Hardie says "It’s a good kilometre or more away"
The other guy said it was a few hundred yards.

Who is right? Google to the rescue:

Looks like Hardie's right; it's actually over 1km, or about 1,200 yards
