Far from the nearest major city, bands in Vancouver looking to break out have no choice but to take their shows on the road. One such aspiring group is the The River and the Road. The Vancouver-based folk rock band has toured across Canada and Australia. They recently opened for the award-winning Sam Roberts Band at the Commodore Ballroom, but that hasn’t brought them instant stardom – they continue to grind out shows on the road.

To pay the bills, a weekend road-trip is never out of the question.  Jon Hernandez and Jordan Wong follow the River and the Road as they make the journey to the Rogers Hometown Hockey Festival in Prince George. Check out their mini-doc above, and track the journey on the social media timeline below.
