News, analysis and commentary by UBC Journalism students

Kevin D. Sauvé

Kevin is a graduate student of Journalism at the University of British Columbia.

As an undergraduate, Kevin studied Biology and Neuroscience and the University of Guelph, focusing on the physiological mechanisms of memory and learning.

Kevin developed an appreciation for unique approaches to the understanding of cognitive functions and the treatment of psychological disorders when his studies took him to India. As a consequence of his experiences in Asia his interests also include globalization and its relation to human health and environmental sustainability. His decision to enter journalism was fueled by a belief in the role of effective communication and education in the creation of a better world.

The focus of his work as a journalist is on public awareness of scientific developments, particularly as they relate to human and ecological systems. His studies are funded in part by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
