Lara Howsam

Lara Howsam is a current graduate student at the UBC School of Journalism.

She is a born and raised prairie girl, from Saskatoon. Lara received her undergraduate degree from The University of Saskatchewan, with a BA honours in Religious Studies and English.

Lara has a curiosity in understanding the events and cultural influences that shape the world. She is especially interested in Eastern religions and hopes to bring this passion to her future in journalism.

Lara has blogged for The Vancouver Sun, regarding the September 2009 Vancouver Peace Summit.

In November 2009 Lara was selected to accompany Canadian country singer Paul Brandt on a humanitarian trip to Cambodia as his Guest Blogger.
