Rebecca teBrake


Rebecca teBrake is a first-year Master’s student at the University of British Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Before venturing to the West Coast, Rebecca spent her time in Ontario. In 2008, Rebecca received her Honours Baccaulaureate in Political Science with a second concentration in Governance and Public Policy from the University of Ottawa.

During her undergrad, Rebecca gained professional experience at as communications assistant in federal government departments including Natural Resources Canada, Indian Residential Schools Resolution Canada and the Treasury Board.

She also spent three months working as a writer with non-governmental organizations in Bangladesh.

Rebecca has contributed to the The Fulcrum, Image and The Hamilton Spectator. As a journalist, she hopes to cover politics, public affairs, and social justice issues.
