In 2013, the Lower Mainland\u00a0underwent dramatic redistricting. Burnaby North-Seymour is a new riding made up of parts of the former Burnaby-Douglas and North Vancouver ridings.<\/p>\n

This is what voting used to look like in Burnaby-Douglas in 2011<\/strong><\/p>\n

Burnaby-Douglas has now been divided into two ridings. The area south of Lougheed Highway, which contains a sizeable group of predominantly NDP voters, has been moved into the riding of Burnaby South. (via Smurfmatic<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\nThe North Vancouver riding has also now been divided between two ridings. The area east of the Seymour River has been moved into the Burnaby North-Seymour riding, adding a large Conservative voter group to the riding. (Via Smurfmatic<\/a>)<\/p>\n

According to the polling station results, if the riding had existed during the 2011 federal election, <\/span>the Conservatives would have taken the riding with 44 per cent of the vote<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Kinder Morgan pipeline is a key issue in the new Burnaby North-Seymour riding.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So far the NDP, Liberal and Green Party federal candidates have come out against the pipeline, while the Conservative candidate supports it.<\/p>\n
