Presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have used Twitter as a major part of their campaign, tweeting over 20 times a day in the four months leading up to Election Day. This is high compared to the candidates in the Canadian federal election last year.

On Sept. 26, 88 million people tuned in to the first presidential debate, making it the most-watched debate in American history. We analyzed 7.7 million tweets by the American voters to give us a clue as to what issues concerned them the most.

The map below highlights the most-tweeted topics by state, according to the data collected and analyzed by Forsight software.
