The diesel buses I’ve been hearing recently are much louder when they’re accelerating than the buses that I’m used to hearing.

They have a much louder, like a higher pitch noise, than the standard buses we’re used to. I mean I’m hearing them in bed and I’m two blocks away from the bus stop.

I think the bus service is good. There are about four buses now, 4, 7, 84, and 44.

Particularly to UBC it’s good.

Except on Saturdays, Sundays; they are not that good, but weekdays they’re pretty good.

I do take the bus to go downtown a couple of times a week, I usually do take a diesel bus downtown because its faster, I think there is an express bus here.

Normally from my apartment building when I have the windows closed, I can hear whether or not I have missed the bus I’m trying to catch. Which in a way is kind of strangely convenient, but also in the evenings it is extremely inconvenient when you’re trying to get some rest.

I think its positive.

There are express buses, that’s the one I take and I can be downtown in 20 minutes either way.

The trolley buses they tend to stop at every stop and it takes a lot longer. So for me personally, I like it.

They make a tremendous amount of noise, fortunately there are some new electric buses, they’re much quieter.

But the diesel buses still make a tremendous amount of noise.

You’re standing in the front yard trying to talk to somebody, when some of the buses go by, you can’t hear each other.

I think as a resident, it’s a positive thing because I’m a commuter and I frequent [the buses] a lot, so its positive.
